OVERVIEW
FTI Construction was appointed to deliver a full alteration and refurbishment of a high specification calibration laboratory for GSK. The project focused on upgrading laboratory to meet strict hygiene, performance and compliance standards required for clean, controlled environment.
APPROACH
Our team carefully planned and coordinated all works to ensure compliance with laboratory hygiene and calibration requirements. The refurbishment included the installation of suspended ceilings, specialist laboratory flooring, and the supply of fit of hygiene certified laboratory equipment. Dry lining, plumbing, electrical works, and full internal decorating were completed to achieve a high-quality finish throughout.
CHALLENGES
The primary challenges involved working within a highly controlled environment where cleanliness, precision, and quality were critical. Coordinating multiple trades while maintaining strict standards and minimising risk to sensitive laboratory conditions required detailed planning and robust quality control.
OUTCOME
The completed laboratory provides a clean, compliant, and fully functional calibration environment aligned with GSK’s operational standards. The refurbishment delivered a high quality, hygienic workspace suitable for specialist laboratory use, supporting accuracy, safety, and long term performance.
